This newly-build modern house had the wow factor, but it didn’t reflect the personality of the young family who bought it. We were commissioned to add warmth and make it more personal.
We will be injecting lots of fun, colour and personality but with a Japanese-inspired twist, with bespoke wooden joinery to add warmth and lots of luxe fabrics and textures, like velvet, leather, marble, and brass. The colour palette is refined and natural, but with pops of rich colour and interesting design pieces. The furniture has to be practical as they have two young children, but we are determined to prove that practical interior design doesn’t have to be restricted or not luxurious. At the heart of this project is its bespoke joinery though - we will be commissioning sliding opaque panels to add privacy to large windows, we will add oak to the sleek minimal staircase for a flowing, organic feel, create a built-in reading nook in the dining area, and a wooden feature wall that will hide a TV and bar unit in the snug.
We can’t wait to see the end result.
