WHERE TO LIVE / HOVE, EAST SUSSEX
Known as Brighton’s quiet little sister, Hove has always been one of our favourite places to live. Because of its progressive and unique personality, this Sussex seaside spectacular is home to some of the friendliest locals you’ll ever meet.
Often described as "one of the best places to live" - and rightly so, the novelty never wears off in Hove. Every day feels like a summer holiday, and ultimately, that’s why this small town has captured our hearts.
Hove is one of the best places to live in the UK, and here’s why:

Eat, drink and be entertained in our favourite artisan bakery
Named one of Britain's Top 20 Artisan Bakeries, Sugar Dough is the best place to get your morning coffee and crumbly pastry! It makes our mouths water just thinking about the tasty treats in this wonderful, well-loved bakery. Flakey croissants, freshly baked brioche buns, homemade jams and their very own sugardough - yes, you heard right, sugardough! Relax in the cosy, welcoming bakery, with a tasty latte and a divine breakfast - plus, you can even watch the bakers knead, poke, and glaze a couple of brioche buns right in front of your eyes.

Relax on Hove Lawn and take in the beautiful scenery
Living in Hove means you know when the best events are being hosted on Hove Lawn. Sometimes it might be outside yoga. Other times it might be Britain's biggest theatre circus (well worth a watch!). If you’re really quick on the ball, you’ll be first in line for the Foodie Festival. Only a short walk to the metal remains of the West Pier, Hove Lawn is the place to chill, and hang out with friends when you want to be in the front row of the impressive views.

Oh, we do love to be beside the seaside
Okay, so the British weather is never amazing. But no matter rain, sunshine or snow, gazing upon the pebbled seafront, day or night, is always a sight for sore eyes. Colourful and charming, yet battered by the British stormy weather, the infamous Hove beach huts stand tall, looking out to the deep - sometimes murky - ocean. You’ll have some of your best nights down near the beach huts, guaranteed. Whether you’re catching up with an old friend over gelato, or walking your furry friend along the seafront. This will surely be a sight that always takes your breath away.

Unwind and relax blissfully at The Float Spa
On an upward trajectory, floating spas are becoming the new “it girl” nowadays, and we’re all for it. The Float Spa is Hove’s charming hidden gem for yoga, floating and massage therapy. Imagine a pod full of Epsom Salt water that makes your body so relaxed, you just float. Dreamy, right? If you’re still not convinced, here are a few reasons you should definitely try out The Float Spa:
- The act of floating quiets your mind, leaving you in the ultimate relaxation state
- Helps with anxiousness
- Improves creativity and physical performance

Discover the nature’s finest creatures in Booth Museum
If you’re a lover of all things fossils, marine life and insects, then you’ll be delighted to hear Booth Museum is home to all those and more. A fun day out for the family, a school-trip for the little ones, or a special occasion tradition, there are many reasons locals revisit the Booth Museum again and again. We don’t blame them; the artefacts are fascinating. Be careful of the dinosaur hiding within the museum - we’re pretty sure you won’t miss it!
We even have a favourite house in Hove...
An early 20th-century home needed a lot of TLC and we were lucky enough to help build something beautiful. We wanted to make a statement from the lovely big features, and bring large rooms back to life that were once a little neglected.
Discover our Hove House project palette, and our concept to embellish this gorgeous home, while still keeping it family-friendly.
