We love animals (a good thing too, living in the countryside) and try to place them into our lives as much as possible. And when animals are interpreted in a quirky way for our interiors, there's even more to love. That's why these eclectic animal-themed lights are some of our favourites.
The gorgeous Volières Bird Cage series is available in numerous options: 2 sizes of chandelier, a table lamp, floor lamp and mini table version. Each chandelier is individually hand made with coppered wire and birds with real feathers. View the full collection at Graham and Green.
The beautiful metal Atelier Areti Alouette Wall Lamp in black or white, sits on a horizontal tube via a multi-angle joint. This joint allows the birds to move and rotate in various directions. The halogen bulb placed inside the cone can be dimmed and has excellent colour rendering. Hand made in Germany and able from Nest.
This Stags Head Wall Light, from Chantelle Lighting, is well...staggering. It's a bold statement for any home, featuring 3 lights along the antlers. We would recommend accessorising this light with Edison bulbs to complement its organic shapes.
As is the Northern Lighting Moo Wall Light - at 750mm high + wide, this would make an amazing feature on a large wall. The figuratively-shaped Moo lamp is made of poly–resin, a material that allows a smooth and transparent flow of light. The bulbs placed inside the horns add an extra element of soft, translucent light to the lamp. The inspiration behind the Moo lamp was found in northern Norway in the breathtaking scenery of Hamarøy. Both designers have summer houses here and moose can frequently be seen passing by. Moo may be used both for indoor (including bathrooms) and outdoor decoration purposes. Available from Nest.
At a more manageable size, the Horse Head Wall Light, made from a translucent fibre glass resin, adds a beautiful warm glow to any room and is available from Good Gracious.
