CACAO PROTEIN BALLS

By Katie Jenson-Hull / The Radiant Nutritionist
With Easter around the corner I needed to share a yummy chocolate based recipe. These delicious cacao protein balls are a favourite with friends, family and clients. Not only do they taste superb, they are a healthy glow giving indulgence.
Raw cacao is an excellent source of minerals including selenium, magnesium and chromium. It is also full of anti-inflammatory flavonoids and antioxidants.
The recipe includes deliciously creamy tahini, chia seeds for a protein and omega 3 hit and antioxidant rich almond flakes. These cacao balls of joy are a sweet, chocolately and healthy treat.
INGREDIENTS
2 tbsp tahini
1 tsp vanilla
2 tbsp chia seeds
1 tbsp almond flakes
Pinch sea salt
1 tbsp coconut oil
2 tbsp cacao powder
1 cup pitted dates
METHOD
1. Add all the ingredients to a blender.
2. Blitz until the ingredients are combined. This may take a few minutes. The ingredients will begin to form a large ball in the blender.
3. Scoop out 3cm sized amounts with an ice cream scoop or a tablespoon. On a lined baking tray, start to roll into ball shapes.
4. Place in the fridge for an hour before serving.
Enjoy.
