Now that we are (already) stripping out our Christmas decorations, we are starting to think about some New Year's projects. Not big ones like rebuild the back of the house, but quick updates that will give an instant refresh and a fresh start to 2016.
A quick paint
Paint is the quickest, easiest and most transformative way to refresh a room. From clean whites to evocative colours, be bold in 2016. Because you can always paint it back!
It's not easy (or cheap) to replace sofas and beds, but especially with all the January sales on, there's never a better time to update your soft furnishings. From cushions and bed linen to curtains and rugs, this is your chance to try something new.
Create an art gallery
Dust off those old prints, get new family pictures printed or surf the net for cool new art and arrange in a gallery style. It doesn't have to be expensive either - find frames on auction sites or again, in the sales. These galleries work really well in stairwells or hallways.
As we look forward to the spring, now is a great time to add foliage to your home. This can be in the form of large blossom branches, orchids or fresh flowers. And now you can also find really good faux flowers to last all-year-round.
