1990'S HOUSE

Built in the nineties, this large house had become a bit tired over the years, so we updated it with a fresh boho-luxe theme. Our clients are young and entertain frequently so the decoration needed to be practical and sustainable, as well as modern and fresh.

All the flooring (wooden floors and carpeting) was dark and dated, so we fitted new wooden floors upstairs and downstairs, in a hard-wearing light oak finish. We then applied a fresh colour palette to all the walls. The existing internal doors were wooden in a plain style and made the space feel heavy, so these were replaced with new traditional doors throughout. We designed and implemented many bespoke features in this renovation, including wallpapered stair treads and Moroccan-style tiling in the kitchen - we used colours and similar designs to keep these all in balance.

In the living room we used soft textures in blues, teals and greens, with a very funky 5.1 AV surround-sound system and large TV above the fireplace, which created focus in such a spacious room. The room was so spacious that there was also space to create a small home office in the corner. In the dedicated study room the brief was for a more traditional feel, but still with a sense of fun - so, alongside the built-in oak desk area (stained to a rich mahogany finish), we sourced tartan wallpaper, dark rustic oak floors and a leather chesterfield which complemented the owners' puppy portrait perfectly. In the master bedroom we designed, made and installed beautiful rustic oak wardrobe doors and a sliding mirrored door to the ensuite.

This is one of our favourite projects as it was such a transformation.
